Program Assistant

Program Assistant

 Full Time Position

Description: The Program Assistant position provides support to young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities throughout their daily activities in an adult Day Service program. BRIDGE believes that all people should be engaged in their community through a variety of opportunities like working on health and wellness goals, employable skills, local volunteering, gardening, outdoor activities at our local parks, and other community activities to strengthen independent living skills.

Great opportunity to gain hands on experience for those going into the teaching field, special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or medical industry.

Position Type: Non-exempt | Hourly | Full Time

Wages: Competitive

Shift Description: Monday thru Friday | 7:00 am-3:00 pm or 9:00 am- 5:00 pm (35-40 hours per week) May be able to accommodate part time as well.

Location: Hudson and River Falls, Wisconsin.

Duties:

  • Accompany young adults with disabilities to and from community activities in company vehicles.
  • Organize and carryout small group activities to help promote, develop and strengthen independent livings skills.
  • Accompany young adults with disabilities to local fitness centers while supporting them in daily exercise through classes and swimming.
  • Support young adults with disabilities while volunteering in the community.
  • Availability for morning and/or afternoon van routes for day services program.
  • Attend monthly training meetings.

Working Environment:

  • Walking, standing, bending, lifting, and balancing.
  • Carrying and transferring up to 50lbs.
  • Driving up 2 hours throughout the day.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with adults with challenging behaviors, individuals with Autism and intellectual and/or physical disabilities preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Pass a criminal history background check.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and hold an acceptable driving record.
  • Operate in a manner that promotes a team-oriented atmosphere. Possess strong communication skills and be highly reliable.
  • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures.

Description: Assist adults with disabilities with career development, professional goals and long-term workplace success strategies at the job sites. Support employees with job training and tasks, and complete required documentation. Training provided.

Position Type: Part time position requiring flexible hours.

Wages: Competitive

Shift Description: Position may require some weekends and evenings.

Location: At training and job sites in the St Croix Valley Area.

Duties:

  • Work directly with an individual with a disability in a training or placement site to help him/her learn the specific requirements of the job, to help him/her learn work-related activities and requirements such as time and attendance rules and work place safety, and to help him/her learn appropriate work-related (including social) behaviors when dealing with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Complete required documentation for individual with a disability in a training or placement site.
  • Provide feedback to Employment Supervisor and/or Case Manager.
  • Attend monthly training meetings.

Working Environment: 
The job coach provides one-on-one monitoring and support at the determined work site.

Travel: Use of personal vehicle may be required. Travel reimbursements are approved when applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Pass a criminal history background check.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and hold an acceptable driving record.
  • Have a reliable vehicle and be willing to drive during work shift.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Route Driver

Route Driver

 Split Shift

Description: Provide transportation for individuals with disabilities to and from BRIDGE Day Services.

Position Type: Part time

Wages: Competitive

Shift Description: Split shifts available: 7:00 am – 9:00 am, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Location: Routes are in the St. Croix River Valley Area.

Duties:

  • Provide morning and evening coverage for route drivers in the Day Services Program using mini vans, 15-passenger vans, and 17-passenger buses with accessible lifts. CDL training available.
  • Complete training required and provided by the BRIDGE Vehicle and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Attend monthly employee meetings.

Travel: Travel is primarily within St. Croix, Pierce, and Polk Counties.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Pass a criminal history background check.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and hold an acceptable driving record.
  • Be a dependable driver during all types of weather.
