Important COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Information

BRIDGE continues to provide education and resources regarding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines, including supporting people to make educated personal decisions about COVID-19 vaccination, and eliminate barriers to COVID-19 vaccination in underserved communities in Wisconsin.

Having an intellectual disability was the highest independent risk factor for contracting COVID-19, controlling for race, ethnicity, and other variables. It was higher even than age or heart or lung problems. Also, having an intellectual disability was second only to age for COVID-19-related deaths. Those with intellectual disabilities were six times more likely to die from COVID-19 than other members of the population* These statistics are reasons to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
