Another Record Breaking Year for the 13th Annual BOWLARAMA Fundraiser for BRIDGE

Saturday, March 31st was the day of the BOWLARAMA, BRIDGE’s largest fundraiser. New and familiar faces came from all over the state, some from over 100 miles away, for this special event bringing individuals with disabilities together with family, friends, caregivers and the western Wisconsin community for a fun day of bowling, dancing and comradery all in support of BRIDGE.

Our ever-supportive event sponsor, The Hudson Knights of Columbus, were there once again, along with several area businesses providing sponsorship, KofC member John Knutson serving as our spirited auctioneer, and Hudson Bowling Center owners Dan and Michelle Klatt donating the full bowling center for the event.

“I love this event! I’ve emceed at almost every BOWLARAMA and worked with Peg 13 years ago to start this fundraiser for BRIDGE,” said KofC John Knutson. “It is with great honor and pride that many of our KofC members raise money for this very special event. The Knights are thrilled to be the primary financial supporter and sponsor for BOWLARAMA every year.”

All together with the donations from KofC of $6364 along with our local sponsors, captains and teams, and from the live auction and other donations, this year’s event raised a grand total of… $29,000 in support of ongoing BRIDGE programs that allow youth and adults with disabilities to receive year-round day-services, find meaningful employment, participate in recreational activities and socialize with friends.

This year’s theme was NEON and the bowling alley was flooded with bright and bold hues of yellow, green, and orange. The BRIDGE Bowlers received fun prizes and the crowd bid on an array of exciting live auction items donated by local vendors and friends. As a unique addition, two vintage beer signs donated by KofC Dave Wakefield, were raffled off on the Hudson Bowling Alley’s Spinning Wheel.

“This year was the highest attendance we’ve seen at BOWLARAMA yet,” said BRIDGE Executive Director Peg Gagnon. “We had families join us from as far as Ashland, WI – that is a powerful example of support for BRIDGE’s mission and the importance of events like BOWLARAMA. It’s so rewarding to watch this event grow year after year. Thank you to the Hudson Knights and to all who supported BRIDGE!”
