Announcing the 2017 Burger Battle Winner…

The hype was high for the 6th Annual BRIDGE Burger Battle, a competition to determine the best burger in town and a benefit supporting BRIDGE For Community Life. Local restaurants, Big Guys BBQ, Club 304, Dick’s Bar and Grill, Seasons Tavern, and Stone Tap Gastropub took on the task of preparing a unique, delicious burger that would win the hearts and stomachs of 250+ burger connoisseurs in the community.

For $25, participants could purchase a Burger Battle Punch Card and bring it to each restaurant during regular lunch or dinner hours from November 1st and December 31st to receive a free Burger Battle featured burger. Punch Cards sold out faster than ever with participants eager to try them all!  After participants enjoyed all five burgers, they visited the Burger Battle voting site (http://hudson-hasit.com/burgerbattle) to choose their favorite.

The competition was closer than ever this time and the winner is… Big Guys BBQ with their Sweet Brisket Burger! This juicy burger was topped with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, smoked brisket, and a tangy Jack Daniels sauce. Congratulations, Big Guys BBQ!

“Each year the determination and competition to win the battle gets steeper and steeper,” says BRIDGE Executive Director, Peg Gagnon, “More than ever, we’re seeing great creativity from every restaurant. I want to encourage everyone to continue visiting these generous restaurants that each donated 250 burgers, supporting innovative programs and services for area youth and adults with disabilities and bringing awareness of nonprofit work to the local community. The burgers were all delicious! We can’t thank the restaurants and participants enough.”

The participating restaurants, Minuteman Press, is.it.2B Marketing, and Engravers Connection generously donated their goods and services so that one hundred percent of the $6,250 raised from the Punch Card purchases went to BRIDGE For Community Life, supporting programs that allow youth and adults with disabilities in the St. Croix River Valley to attend year-round day service programs, find meaningful employment, participate in ongoing recreational activities, and socialize with friends.
