Perhaps volunteering with BRIDGE is just what you’re looking for! Our current needs include:

  • Helpers for seasonal events like dances and parades
  • Individuals that like to build and paint
  • Volunteers for one of our day programs, supporting our staff and clients

 

Individuals must be at least 18 years old to volunteer at BRIDGE.
Volunteers under 18 are considered on a case-by-case basis and require a chaperone 18 years old or older to accompany them.

BRIDGE is unable to accommodate individuals needing volunteer hours due to a court-issued fine.

A FEW VOLUNTEERING OPTIONS

DAY SERVICES VOLUNTEER

BRIDGE Day Services provides a engaging and safe environment for youth and adults with disabilities to continue learning through daily life skills activities between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, all year round.

Volunteer Description: Volunteers encourage and support BRIDGE clients as they participate in program activities and community outings. Some of these exciting activities include arts and crafts, sports and exercise, cooking class, reading and writing class, and community outings to the YMCA, parks, local volunteer sites and more. Our volunteers offer a unique mentoring role to our clients, always with the support of trained BRIDGE staff members.

Location: BRIDGE, 651 Brakke Drive, Hudson
Date & Time: Monday – Friday, 9 – 3

Hours: Flexible and typically varies between 2 – 20 hours a week depending on volunteer interests and availability as well as the program’s ability to accommodate volunteers.

All Day Services volunteers must pass a Background Check before beginning their service.

BRIDGE CLUB ON BRAKKE

BRIDGE Club events are currently on hold until further notice.
Join us on the first Friday of every month for an evening of social fun. Guests ages 6th grade and up get together for a parent free evening of social activities. Activities include: Turkey Bingo, seasonal crafts, music, refreshments and more.

Volunteer Description: Volunteer’s support those with disabilities by encouraging participation in activities, serve refreshments, and assist with light clean up at the end. This is always a rockin’ good time.

Location: BRIDGE, 651 Brakke Drive, Hudson
Date & Time Commitment: First Friday of the Month, 7pm-8:30pm, October – May
Hours: 1-2
Total Hours Required: 2

DANCES AND EVENT SETUP AND TAKE DOWN

We are looking for volunteers to help set up and take down decorations for our dances and events!

All decorations are provided by BRIDGE. We need help with moving tables and chairs, stringing lights, putting up wall decorations and setting up table centerpieces. Depending on the event this process could take up to 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete.

The take down portion includes taking down decorations, moving tables and chairs back to their original place, and clean up.

Time commitment is 1-4 hours depending on the event.

  • Halloween Dance – October
  • Come See Santa – December
  • Valentine’s Dance – February

COME SEE SANTA

Guests of all ages are invited to meet Santa and participate in holiday games in a stress free environment. Refreshments served.

Volunteer Description: A variety of opportunities for volunteers; support those with disabilities by helping with the morning activities; decorating, set up and take down, operating games, and clean up. All supplies are provided.
Location: The First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Vine Street, Hudson
Date & Time Commitment:

  • December, Friday Set up
  • December, Saturday- Event day

Hours: 2-4
Total Hours required: Flexible
